At myBJJ, we believe in equal opportunity and empowerment of women, which is why we’re dedicated to teaching BJJ and self defence techniques for women.
While we’re striving to achieve gender equality in Australia, unfortunately violence against women is still common. From suffering physical violence at the hand of a partner or family member, to experiencing bullying school or in the workplace, there are many ways that women are victimised in Australia today. Our women’s self defence classes Sydney help women develop the skills to get out of dangerous situations, as well as feel more confident and empowered in their everyday lives.
As a core tenet of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu’s philosophy and practice, better technique will overcome size and strength in an altercation. In our women’s self defence classes Sydney, you’ll learn how to defend and protect yourself against oncoming attackers, even if they’re bigger and stronger than you.
Unlike most women’s self defence techniques for women that rely heavily on strength, speed, and coordination, our women’s self defence classes Sydney employ leverage, technique and timing, so that anyone – regardless of age or athletic ability – can protect themselves in dangerous situations.
Our women’s self defence classes Sydney incorporate self defence techniques for women with the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. These classes exist as an on-going independent training program, as well as a fantastic supplement to our other BJJ, MMA and Kickboxing programs.
At myBJJ, we believe that while women are as capable as men, we understand the need to create a safe, women’s-only space to developing competency and confidence. As such, our Women’s self defence classes Sydney are run by our amazing team of female coaches. Women of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in these sessions.
